Shekulli and Panorama newspapers praises UNDP Project for the rehabilitation of Bajza hotspot "Shekulli", the main Albanian newspaper dedicated the feature of the week to the efforts of UNDP Project to tackle environmental hot spots in Albania, with a special focus on the rehabilitation of Bajza hot spot. The article quoted the UNDP Resident Representative Gülden Türköz-Cosslett in saying that through this project UNDP aims to improve the quality of life for citizens living in and around polluted areas and the environmental situation by encouraging sound local and national policy dialogue. Unknown facts revealed during a training course organized by the Projects with Shkodra journalists were highlighted in the article written by Arben Rrozhani, a leading Albanian journalist and lecturer of the training course and Anila Dushi, a local correspondent. Rrozhani summarized the vicissitudes of the local inhabitants during the last 18 years from the arrival of "Death Train" with pesticides from Germany in exchange for 413 pure Arab race horses. A dichotomy that tells a story. "Panorama", another leading Albanian newspaper has dedicated an article to the Bajza hotspot rehabilitation efforts by praising the UNDP Project in this regard. The main Albanian TV, together with the written media are an important partner to raise the awareness on environmental protection issues. They have covered and continue to do so all the public awareness activities performed by the Project. Please find below the press clippings.
